Grade the actual paper
your student wrote on — not a retyped copy of it.

Most "AI grading" apps make a teacher retype or dictate the answer before anything gets marked. AcademicOS photographs the real answer booklet, AI-grades it against the real CBSE marking scheme, and lets the teacher correct against that same photograph — on the phone, offline, no server required.

The gap we saw

Grading apps that only look at digital text miss the point

A Class X student's real answer is written by hand, on paper, with crossed-out work and partial steps that matter for CBSE marking schemes. An app that only grades a typed transcript throws all of that away before a teacher ever sees it.

What generic "AI grading" apps do

  • OCR the handwriting once, silently, and grade whatever text comes out
  • Show the teacher a digital transcript to correct — never the actual page
  • Can't tell a genuine step-marking answer from a lucky keyword match
  • Assume a live server connection in every classroom, every time

What AcademicOS does

  • Photographs every page, keeps the real image alongside every mark
  • Correction screen shows the actual scanned answer sheet, question by question
  • Scores against the real CBSE marking scheme's per-point rubric, with reasoning shown
  • Runs the entire pipeline — OCR, grading, mastery — on the phone, offline
The full flow

From a blank paper to a corrected, mastery-tracked class — in one app

Every screen below is a real screenshot from the current build. Nothing here is a mockup.

01 — DESIGN

Build a CBSE-aligned paper in minutes

Pick a subject, grade, and chapters — AcademicOS assembles a real paper from a bundled bank of 3,286+ genuine CBSE/NCERT questions, balanced across difficulty and Bloom's level, with a real marking scheme behind every question.

  • Section-wise blueprint (MCQ, short answer, long answer)
  • Real difficulty and Bloom's-taxonomy distribution, not random picks
  • Exportable, print-ready paper with the school's own branding
Assessments list showing 5 real CBSE assessments across subjects
Real exported CBSE paper PDF, print-ready with school letterhead and student fields
02 — CAPTURE

Photograph the actual answer booklet

No scanner, no upload portal. A teacher opens Scan & Grade, picks the student, and photographs each page with the phone's own camera — the same device already in every teacher's pocket.

  • On-device OCR (Google ML Kit) — no photo ever leaves the phone unless the teacher syncs it
  • Multi-page capture for a full booklet
  • Works with zero signal, mid-classroom

03 — CORRECT

Correct against the real scanned page — the whole reason this app exists

Every other step in this flow is table stakes. This is the one that isn't: when a teacher opens a graded sheet, they see AI-drafted marks and reasoning sitting next to the actual photographed answer — not a re-typed guess at what the student wrote. "Raw scanned booklet" shows the real photographed pages; "Corrected sheet" shows the question-by-question marks. Both are one tap away, always.

04 — REVIEW

Every question shows the scanned page, not extracted text

This is the actual per-question review screen — the same photographed page from step 03, sitting directly above the question and the AI's verdict. Marks are scored against the real marking scheme's per-point rubric, with reasoning shown so a teacher can see exactly why. And when the AI genuinely can't find an answer on the page, it says so honestly instead of guessing.

  • The real scanned image, inline with every single question
  • Per-marking-point breakdown, not just a final number
  • One-tap override with a real audit trail of who changed what

05 — LEARN

Every correction becomes real mastery data

Nothing here is invented. Mastery per concept is computed from the actual evaluated answers — accuracy, recency, retention, and higher-order transfer — the same signal a spaced-repetition system needs to plan what a student should study next.

  • Weak-concept detection, ranked by real impact
  • One-tap targeted practice generation from the same real question bank
  • Rolls up honestly — a struggling class shows a struggling class, not an inflated average

06 — ACT

Teachers see what to re-teach. Principals see the whole school.

Teacher Insights ranks recommended actions by how much class learning is genuinely at stake, with the specific at-risk students named. School Intelligence rolls the same real data up by subject, for a principal who needs the whole picture in one screen.

  • Ranked interventions, not a generic dashboard
  • Curriculum coverage tracked alongside mastery
  • Principal-approval lock on any paper once it's finalized

Compliance, stated plainly

We'd rather tell you what isn't finished than let you assume it is

CBSE students are minors, and every real assessment on this app is their data. We built the controls DPDP Act 2023 and CERT-In actually require, documented what's drafted vs. certified, and never claim more than what's true today.

  • Verifiable parental consent
Real (non-demo) students are gated behind a recorded consent step before a report ever exports — enforced in the app, not just documented.
  • Append-only audit log
Every grading write, teacher override, and principal approval is logged with who and when — the same log a CERT-In breach investigation would need.
  • Locked-paper approval chain
Once a principal approves a paper, it can't silently move back to an editable state — mirrored identically between the offline app and the server build.
  • iDocumentation, honestly labeled
A DPA template, an incident-response runbook, and ISO 27001 / SOC 2 control drafts exist and are ready for legal review — we call them drafted, not certified, because that's what's actually true today.
Adoption

A teacher who's never seen this app opens it and already understands it

Every offline install ships with a real, fully-graded example department — 5 subjects, 10 students, one scanned-and-corrected answer sheet — and a five-slide guided tour that points at exactly that data. No training session required before a school's first real class.

Who it's actually for

Three real people in every CBSE school, one app

Subject teacher

Grades a full class in the time it used to take for a handful of papers

Photographs the booklet between periods, corrects AI-drafted marks against the actual scanned page, and never has to manually total marks or write a mark sheet again.

Principal / academic head

Sees curriculum coverage and mastery across every section, honestly

School Intelligence rolls up real evaluated data by subject — no self-reported completion percentages, no inflated averages.

Parent (via the school)

Gets a report card grounded in a real evaluated answer sheet

Every learning gap on a report card traces back to a specific, correctable, photographed answer — not a black-box score.

Why a school pays for this instead of a spreadsheet

The subscription buys back teacher time and gives a principal evidence, not just a grade

10x

3,286+
real CBSE/NCERT questions bundled — no per-question authoring needed
0
